Chief Operating Officer
Claudia Flöte is Arianespace’s Chief Operating Officer, bringing more than 20 years of experience in European space programs.
Flöte came to Arianespace from ArianeGroup, where she previously was Head of Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) and the Operations Production Center for Ariane launch vehicles. Her responsibilities included overseeing the assembly, integration, checkout test and inspection for the Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 launch vehicles and their stages; the coordination of production maintenance activities; contribution to the industrialization phase for new products; and implementation of LEAN processes for the Ariane production system in the framework of continuous improvement.
Among Flöte’s earlier assignments were as the Head of Ariane 5 Configuration and Engineering Synthesis; the Head of ArianeGroup’s Configuration and Documentation Management, Vehicle & Systems Cluster; Production Manager for Ariane 5’s EPS and ESC‐A upper stages; along with configuration, documentation and system engineer manager responsibilities for Ariane 5 and the predecessor Ariane 4 launcher.
She also was Payload Manager for EURECA – the European Retrievable Carrier free flying satellite for microgravity experiments, which was launched from the U.S. Space Shuttle and returned to Earth after a nine-month mission.
Flöte has an engineering degree in physics from the University of Essen, Germany.
