Mission VA267: encapuslation complete and fairing on launch pad

The 32 Amazon Leo satellites were safely encapsulated under Ariane 6’s 20-meter-long fairing.

Encapsulation is a critical step in the launch campaign: the satellites are carefully integrated and enclosed within the fairing, which will protect them throughout ascent, through the Earth’s atmosphere, before separation in low Earth orbit.

After this encapsulation milestone, the fairing was transferred to the launch pad and hoisted ontop of the central core of the launcher.

For mission VA267, Ariane 6 is in its Ariane 64 configuration with four boosters, – a first.

Ariane 64 will provide the lift capability and volume required for this multi-satellite deployment, marking the first time an Ariane launcher deploys as many as 32 satellites in a single mission.
