Arianespace announces the appointment of Filipe de Oliveira as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective today. He also joins Arianespace’s Executive Committee.

He brings more than two decades of experience in the space industry and a deep understanding of the needs of satellite operators, Arianespace’s core customers.

Filipe de Oliveira has spent most of his career at the European satellite operator Eutelsat, where he has held senior positions in engineering, strategy and sales.

Most recently, as Vice President Commercial in charge of the Connectivity Business Unit (CBU), he was responsible for commercial strategy, products and offerings, pricing, marketing and the sales approach across the maritime, aviation, government and land-based markets. In this role, he spearheaded major business development initiatives with strategic customers and partners in both institutional and commercial markets.

Previously, as Vice President Fleet & Resources within Eutelsat’s Strategy department, he led strategic partnerships and revenue-generating projects with customers and partners, and contributed to the development of the company’s next-generation satellites, from design through to the business models. His earlier roles at Eutelsat included resource engineering, capacity planning and fleet optimisation.

Filipe de Oliveira began his career in France Télécom’s R&D department, working on orbital and spectrum regulation under the rules of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

A French-Portuguese dual national aged 48, he holds an engineering degree in telecommunications from ESME (Paris), where he subsequently taught satellite communications.

David Cavaillolès, Chief Executive Officer of Arianespace, said: “The appointment of Filipe de Oliveira marks an important step in Arianespace’s commercial strategy as Ariane 6 continues to ramp up operations and benefits from strong commercial demand. His expertise and understanding of the satellite operator ecosystem will be instrumental in expanding our business with institutional and commercial customers in Europe and worldwide, and strengthening Ariane 6’s position in the global launch services market.”

Filipe de Oliveira, Chief Commercial Officer at Arianespace, said: “I am delighted to join Arianespace at such a pivotal moment for Ariane 6. I look forward to building on this momentum, working closely with our customers, partners and teams to continue delivering reliable, competitive launch services and support Ariane 6’s long-term commercial success.”
