New launch date targeted for Ariane 5 Flight VA230

The start of replacement operations for the fluid connector between the cryogenic upper stage and launch table – along with associated checks – has enabled a new targeted launch date for Flight VA230.

This mission is now targeted for a June 16 liftoff – during a 45-minute launch window that opens at 5:30 p.m. local time in French Guiana next Thursday.

The EchoStar XVIII and BRIsat satellites and Ariane 5 launch vehicle are being maintained in fully safe conditions and in stand-by mode.

Designated Ariane 5 Flight VA230 in Arianespace’s numbering system, this dual-passenger mission is the 230th flight of an Ariane-series vehicle.
