Flight VA252: Ariane 5 lifts off from French Guiana

Arianespace’s Ariane 5 launcher has lifted off from the Spaceport in French Guiana carrying JCSAT-17 and GEO-KOMPSAT-2B – which will be deployed during a sequence lasting 31 minutes from liftoff to final separation.

Payload lift performance for today’s mission to geostationary transfer orbit – designated Flight VA252 in Arianespace’s launcher family numbering system – is estimated at 10,109 kg. This total includes the two satellite passengers, plus the workhorse vehicle’s dual-payload deployment system and integration hardware.
