Ariane 5: the heavy-lift leader
Since its commercial service introduction with Arianespace in 1999, Ariane 5 has become the heavy-lift launcher of choice for satellite operators and manufacturers around the globe. It is operated from the ELA-3 launch complex at the Spaceport in French Guiana, which is one of the world's most modern facilities.
Ariane 5 carries payloads weighing more than 10 metric tons to geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) and over 20 metric tons into low-Earth orbit (LEO), with a high degree of accuracy mission after mission.
