Arabsat’s BADR-6 satellite will be launched by Arianespace on the next heavy-lift Ariane 5 mission. This Ku/C-band relay platform will open up new video broadcasting and telecom services for the entire Middle East and North Africa region, along with a large part of sub-Saharan Africa.

The on-target missions performed by our Starsem affiliate in 2007 lofted nine satellite payloads, underscoring Soyuz’ growing importance in the commercial launch services marketplace. Starsem’s December 14 flight placed the Canadian RADARSAT-2 satellite in Sunsynchronous orbit, bringing total Soyuz launches to 1,728.
