Arianespace Flight 159: Launch Postponed
Kourou, French Guiana, February 11, 2003
Due to unfavorable weather conditions at the Spaceport in French Guiana, Arianespace's Flight 159 with the Intelsat 907 satellite payload has been delayed.
The speed and direction of high altitude winds led Arianespace to stop the launch countdown seven hours before the scheduled liftoff, which had been set for the early morning hours of February 12.
The Ariane 44L launch vehicle and its Intelsat 907 spacecraft are being maintained in a safe stand-by mode.
A go-ahead decision for the next launch attempt will be decided based on the evolving weather conditions.
