CommunicAsia 2012 / CASBAA Satellite Industry Forum

Singapore
June 18-22, 2012

Arianespace is underscoring its leading market presence in the important Asia-Pacific region with participation this week at two Singapore-based industry events: CommunicAsia 2012 and the CASBAA Satellite Industry Forum.

Arianespace is highlighting its full family of launch vehicles at the CommunicAsia 2012 exhibit area.

As part of the activities in Singapore, Arianespace is highlighting its complete family of launch vehicles – made up of the workhorse heavy-lift Ariane 5, medium Soyuz and lightweight Vega – at the CommunicAsia 2012 exhibition area.

Since 1987, Arianespace has launched a total of 50 satellites for operators across the Asia-Pacific area – representing an average of two spacecraft lofted annually. With four additional satellites in the company’s backlog, Arianespace currently has a regional commercial satellite market share of 64 percent.

The company has provided launch services for nine regional countries to date: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand.

Also at CommunicAsia, the 2012 winner was named for satellite communications service provider MEASAT’s annual scholarship program – which this year is being supported by Arianespace. The prize covers tuition fees, accommodations, living expenses and travel costs to pursue a Master’s Degree in Space Studies at the prestigious International Space University in Strasbourg, France.

This week’s activity in Singapore kicked off June 18 with Arianespace’s participation at the CASBAA (the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia) Satellite Industry Forum. As part of its presence, Arianespace sponsored the event’s networking lunch – which included comments from Richard Bowles, Managing Director of the company’s Singaporean subsidiary.
