International Astronautical Congress (IAC)

October 12-16, 2009
Daejeon, South Korea

Arianespace is underscoring its position as the benchmark launch service provider for Asia with a high profile presence at the 60th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Daejeon, South Korea.  Currently, the Arianespace order book includes two satellites to be orbited for South Korea – COMS-1 and Koreasat 6. Both spacecraft are scheduled for launch from Europe’s Spaceport in 2010.

A highlight of this international meeting was Arianespace Chairman and CEO Jean-Yves Le Gall’s participation in the Congress’ third plenary session – held on October 13 – which featured a discussion by industry leaders on impacts of the current economic situation, and how the space sector can help stimulate new services and business development.
