The Ariane 5 for Arianespace’s seventh and final flight of 2009 has completed its basic buildup in the Spaceport’s Launcher Integration Building at French Guiana, maintaining the company’s sustained mission pace with the commercial launch vehicle.
Once final check-out steps are completed, this Ariane 5 will be ready for transfer to the Final Assembly Building, where payload installation is to occur. The Spaceport’s Final Assembly Building is now ready to receive the launcher following today’s rollout of another Ariane 5, which is slated for liftoff tomorrow with the NSS-12 and THOR 6 satellites.
Arianespace’s mission flexibility is enhanced by the Spaceport’s infrastructure, which allows two Ariane 5 flights to be prepared in parallel.
Beginning in 2010, the company’s family of launch vehicles will be expanded with Arianespace’s introduction of the medium-lift Soyuz and lightweight Vega.
