Arianespace’s “base of operations” at the 2009 Paris Air Show has been alive with business meetings from the event’s opening hours today, validating the importance of the company’s participation in this largest gathering of the world’s aerospace industry.
The Arianespace hospitality chalet at Le Bourget Airport has already welcomed a full range of customers, industry executives, government representatives and journalists from many nations. It also hosted signing ceremonies with two suppliers for components to equip the upcoming PB batch of 35 Ariane 5 launchers ordered by Arianespace.
“The Paris Air Show is a true crossroads for the global aerospace industry, and we view our presence at this biennial event as an important business and relational tool,” explained Jacques Denavaut, Arianespace’s Vice-President of Corporate Communication. “The goal is to ensure our guests feel welcomed – offering them the opportunity of not only dialoging with Arianespace’s own management team, but interacting with other industry decision-makers as well.”
Despite the relatively muted atmosphere at this year’s Paris Air Show – which is due primarily to the civil aviation sector’s downturn in the current economic crisis – the telecommunications industry continues to be strong. As a leading provider of launch services for telecom satellite manufacturers and operators, Arianespace is maintaining a healthy order intake, which is expected to continue based on the upbeat outlook expressed by many executives attending the Paris Air Show.
