A “high wire” act for Arianespace's new logo at the Spaceport

February 18, 2009

Arianespace’s new logo is now proudly displayed on the full-scale Ariane 5 model in the technical zone at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

The updated corporate image was installed by two workers who scaled the 50-meter-tall launcher model using a system of cables.

This provides high visibility for Arianespace’s refined logo, as the Ariane 5 model dominates the Spaceport’s technical zone – which is home to the facility’s administrative and logistics areas, as well as the Jupiter mission control center.

Arianespace introduced an overall corporate identity refresh on January 1, which included the evolution of its logo.  Among the refinements are the incorporation of its “Service & Solutions” motto as an integral part of the corporate logo, and the updating of its stylized arrow – which represents a launcher’s flight trajectory from French Guiana.

The Spaceport is home to Arianespace’s commercial launch operations, which began with the Ariane 1 vehicle in 1984.  Ariane 5 made its first flight at the service of Arianespace in 1999, and the Spaceport will see its activities expand with the upcoming introduction of Soyuz and Vega at French Guiana.
