The new French Prime Minister, François Fillon, was one of the first visitors to Arianespace’s Paris Air Show exhibit as the world’s largest aerospace opened June 18 for its week-long run.
Fillon was briefed by Chairman & CEO on the expansion of Arianespace’s launcher family through the future introduction of Soyuz 2 and Vega at French Guiana – which will join ongoing operations of the workhorse heavy-lift Ariane 5.
Le Gall also presented Fillon with an Ariane 5 scale model while underscoring the importance of this launcher program to Europe’s commercial and strategic access to space.
The Arianespace stand includes model displays of models representing Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega, as well as panels highlighting the company’s key clients and missions.
One panel references SES’ new framework contract – announced at the Paris Air Show – which will guarantee launch services for several satellites deployed by this global operator. Another provided an overview of Ariane 5’s launch of Europe’s Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) to the International Space Station. |
