Speaking to a high-level audience of Asian telecommunications industry executives in Singapore today, CEO Jean-Yves Le Gall said Arianespace will meet the full range of customer needs with high-quality, responsive solutions. More than 120 guests heard Le Gall's remarks at the Arianespace-sponsored lunch meeting, which was held during the 2004 Satellite Industry Forum, organized CASBAA (the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia).
Le Gall described the current mood among main players in the telecommunications market as "more optimistic," with the slow - but steady -recovery continuing after a period of real crisis. He added that the market is smaller and more robust based on solid business plans, with a dynamic direct-to-home video market continuing to drive demand for more capacity. In addition, new applications such as high definition and interactive television are starting to be deployed.
"There is an growing diversity in mission requirements - including telecom, video, business networks and Internet," Le Gall explained. "This requires greater flexibility by launch service providers to cope with changing markets that will see both smaller, dedicated platforms, as well as larger, high-power multi-mission satellites."
With its launcher family of Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega - backed up by the reality of mission assurance through the Launch Services Alliance - Arianespace has the high quality, responsive solutions to answer its customers' needs.
"Equal and independent access to space is part of Arianespace's credo and is something which is generally followed by the rest of the industry," Le Gall said. "This 'access' applies not only to customer type, but to the type of satellite - any size, and any mass: elements which can be key for startups. In this respect, some operators are more equal than others."
