Arianespace’s Soyuz begins its extended mission to deploy SES-15

The Arianespace mission with SES-15 is now underway following today's Soyuz liftoff from the Spaceport in French Guiana.

Total lift performance for the launch is estimated at 2,447 kg., with the satellite to be deployed into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) during a flight lasting approximately 5 hrs., 18 min.

Soyuz departed the Spaceport at the planned precise liftoff time of 08:54:53 a.m., local time in French Guiana.

During today’s mission, the Soyuz launcher’s Fregat upper stage will perform two engine burns, separated by a 4-hour-plus ballistic phase.
