Liftoff of Arianespace’s Flight VA222 has been delayed after an anomaly occurred during preparations for Ariane 5’s rollout from the Final Assembly Building to the launch zone at the Spaceport in French Guiana.
This anomaly was identified on a fluid connector that links the Ariane 5’s cryogenic upper stage to the mobile launch table. The decision to delay Flight VA222 was made in order to replace this part and perform the subsequent verifications.
Ariane 5 and its THOR 7 and SICRAL 2 satellite payloads are being maintained in fully safe conditions and in a stand-by mode.
Flight VA222’s new targeted launch date will be announced as soon as possible.
