Flight VA243: Ariane 5 lifts off from French Guiana

Arianespace’s Ariane 5 launcher has begun its milestone 100th flight from the Spaceport, carrying the Horizons 3e and Azerspace-2/Intelsat 38 telecommunications satellites – which will be deployed during a sequence lasting 42 minutes from liftoff to final separation.

Payload lift performance for today’s mission – which is designated Flight VA243 in Arianespace’s launcher family numbering system – is estimated at 10,827 kg.
