Arianespace welcomes the French President at the Paris Air Show
French President François Hollande visited Arianespace’s exhibit at the Paris Air Show today while on a morning tour of the international aerospace event at Le Bourget Airport.
During his stopover, Hollande was briefed by Arianespace Chairman & CEO Stéphane Israël, who outlined the company’s role as a worldwide launch services provider of choice – benefitting from its launcher family of the heavyweight Ariane 5, medium-lift Soyuz and lightweight Vega vehicles.
The encounter was concluded with Israël’s presentation of an Ariane 5 scale model to the French president.
To underscore France’s active role in the European space and aviation sectors, Hollande selected a special means of transportation for his arrival at Le Bourget Airport. He flew into Le Bourget Airport on an Airbus Military A400M airlifter, and was welcomed by Tom Enders – the Chief Executive Officer of EADS, which is one of Arianespace’s largest single shareholders.
