• May 7, 2013
  Vega’s second flight from French Guiana marks the start-up of mission operations under Arianespace responsibility for this light-lift launcher. A trio of satellites, including Vega’s first commercial payload, are orbited during the successful mission.
• April 18, 2013
  Stéphane Israël is appointed Chairman & CEO of Arianespace, succeeding Jean-Yves Le Gall – who led the company since 2001 and earlier in April 2013 was named President of French space agency CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales).
• March 18, 2013
  Arianespace announces a three-satellite launch services contract for Intelsat, with the spacecraft to be orbited through 2017 by Ariane 5 vehicles from the Spaceport. The deal covers the 52nd, 53rd and 54th payloads that Arianespace will orbit for this leading provider of satellite services, continuing a nearly 33-year partnership.

Jacques Breton - Senior Vice President, Sales & Customers

Jacques Breton was named Arianespace’s Senior Vice President, Sales & Customers, in April 2009.

He began his career with Avions Marcel Dassault-Bréguet Aviation in 1980, and joined Arianespace in 1985 as head of the technical support department in the Marketing & Sales division. As Vice President for engineering and production, he participated in the start-up of Starsem, the company in charge of marketing Soyuz launches at Baikonur.

In 1999, Breton was assigned to Arianespace’s subsidiary in Washington, D.C., with responsibility for overseeing launch service marketing and sales in the U.S. market. As Director of Engineering from 1999 to 2003 he was the technical liaison between customers and manufacturers in the United States, while participating in sales & marketing in the region as well as the marketing of European services for the International Space Station.

He returned to company headquarters in Evry, France as head of the technical-commercial support Division.

Breton holds a degree from the ENSAM engineering school, with specialized graduate work in aerospace engineering at the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Aéronautiques.
